That said, there are many on this earth who are exhibiting symptoms of what I see as a worldwide epidemic and they are, quite frankly, a huge pain in the ass. Fortunately, compassion can come easy for people acting like an angry butt-wipe, because I expect all of have been that person. If we desire to forgive ourselves, we also desire to forgive others who have trespassed the shit out us. In the interest of being part of the process that heals those with these distinctive bad habits, let’s talk about these bastards. The following is a rough and incomplete description of the crankiest among us.

You have even been them, possibly as recently as today. “They” are seemingly followed by a dark cloud of negativity and catastrophe, and attempts to shift their perspective seem almost fruitless. It is as if miserable people prefer to be miserable, although if you ask them, they will angrily ask you who you think you are to be the judge over who is happy and who is not, completely avoiding answering the question. The darkness is shifty like that, and tenacious its deflections and redirections. Like an asteroid hurtling through space, there is a powerful inertia to the habitual patterns of these mental behaviors, and what we practice most, becomes our persona, the role we play in life.(Keep reading in Brian's Blog)
